This is an AMAZING Bastone cluster burl walnut log. The slabs feature quilted fiddleback, and really chocolately brown tones with well defined grain lines. Pin is scattered throughout, and many of the slabs feature areas of feather along with the fiddleback and curly grain. Bastone walnut looks like a 50/50 mix of English and Claro walnut woods. It has more of the chocolate brown heartwood color of English walnut with some of the marblecake grain patterns, but also has wider candy striped bands and some red tones that are often found in Claro logs and slabs. These slabs also have very creamy colored sapwood reminicent of English walnut. Many of these slabs have a large hole in them and have a small English walnut graft. Each slab is unique from the one before or after it. If you have any questions or would like additional details, please contact us.
